The wireline directory assistance market, along with most of the telecommunications industry is experiencing a metamorphosis. ILECs are no longer subjugated to doing business solely in the local directory assistance market. Most now offer National 411 service to their subscribers. National directory assistance end-users no longer have to know the area code of the person or business they intend to call.
