Description

The wireline directory assistance market, along with most of the telecommunications industry is experiencing a metamorphosis. ILECs are no longer subjugated to doing business solely in the local directory assistance market. Most now offer National 411 service to their subscribers. National directory assistance end-users no longer have to know the area code of the person or business they intend to call. All that is necessary is for them to know the name and city where the person or enterprise is located. This will no doubt increase directory assistance usage.
