The APAC network security market witnessed a slower YoY growth of 7.8% in Q3, 2021, when compared to the double-digit YoY growth of 16.7% the previous quarter; this indicates a steady post-crisis recovery and shift out of the market’s strong rebound phase. The firewall segment remained the biggest technology segment driving the overall network security market, as it registered a healthy YoY growth rate of 11.2% in Q3, 2021. The SSL VPN segment continued to register a YoY decline 16.2% in Q3, 2021, as the demand for secure remote access solutions slowed down further after a spike in the pent-up demand and investment observed in APAC, following the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. Stand-alone IDS/IPS experienced a YOY decline of 4.6% in Q3, 2021, as the technology is being integrated into security platforms. In addition, the strong demand from Chinese market participants slackened considerably this quarter.

Research Scope: This tracker offers an analysis of the APAC network security market for Q3 (July to September) of 2021. Market trends, such as vendor performance, vertical market splits, and enterprise-size splits are analyzed in this study. Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Japan, South Korea, and rest of ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar) are covered. This study is segmented into three key focus areas: firewall; Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Networking (SSL VPN); and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) or IDS/IPS. Vertical segmentation covers government; banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI); service provider; healthcare; manufacturing; education; and other sectors. Customer segmentation includes large enterprises with more than 500 employees as well as small and medium-sized businesses with fewer than 500 employees. AhnLab, Array Networks, Check Point Software Technologies, Cisco Systems, F5 Networks, Forcepoint, Fortinet, Gajshield, H3C Technologies, Hillstone Networks, Huawei, Ivanti, Juniper Networks, McAfee, Neusoft, NexG, NSFOCUS, Palo Alto Networks, QI-ANXIN GROUP, Sangfor, SECUI, SonicWall , Sophos, TopSec, Trend Micro, Venustech, WatchGuard Technologies, WINS, and other vendors are covered.
