India is at the crossroads where the economy is seeing a strong push not only from policy makers towards electric mobility, but also from electric vehicle manufacturers for increasing the adoption of energy-efficient vehicles. Frost & Sullivan’s Electric Vehicle Readiness Index examines 40 key Tier I and Tier II Indian cities, based on their readiness for eMobility using a robust data-driven framework.

Frost & Sullivan applies its proprietary framework, which employs a holistic approach for assessing the readiness of Indian cities, by evaluating them against a set of parameters broadly bracketed under 5 pillars. This framework helps companies form a reliable model to identify the cities that are expected to drive demand for electric mobility in India.

The methodology is based on a seven-step robust framework that ranges from steps such as data compilation, normalization, indicator weightage, pillar score calculation, pillar weight assignment, and indicator score calculation. Based on these steps, ranks are assigned to each of the cities based on the scores.

The innovative Electric Vehicle Readiness Index helps companies to:
• Make analytical decisions about target markets for the sale of electric vehicles (EVs) by a thorough demand-side analysis
• Tap into growth opportunities beyond metropolitan cities to find a wider set of untapped dynamic regional economies
• Understand the all the factors that contribute to providing a holistic approach to the index creation
• Obtain a client-friendly, customizable, and interactive query-based delivery system to re-tool their sales strategies
