Growth Opportunities in the Asia-Pacific C4ISR Industry, 2023–2028

This research service analyzes the Asia-Pacific military command, control, communication, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) industry. It segments the industry into 5 categories: command and control, communication, computers, ISR, and electronic warfare. The assessment covers four major Asia-Pacific defense leaders: Australia, India, Japan, and South Korea.

The research service examines national defense budgets, procurement and production policies, and bilateral and international partnerships with allies to:

• identify industry drivers, restraints, and emerging growth opportunities
• discuss relevant C4ISR trends across operational domains (air, land, maritime, and space) for each focus country
• examine the domestic defense manufacturing industry and outline the outlook for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in each focus country

The Asia-Pacific C4ISR industry will experience strong growth as regional defense leaders accelerate military modernization. Emphasis on domestic production and procurement, supported by government incentives and grants, will drive significant investment in indigenous research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E), with a focus on dual-use solutions. Synergistic inter-sectoral partnerships will advance cutting-edge technologies such as AI, ML, data analytics, and 5G connectivity, which are crucial for interoperability and multi-domain operational capabilities.
