Investment Opportunities in Middle East and North Africa (MENA)

The Middle Eastern and North African markets are emerging as areas of opportunity with major countries such as the KSA, UAE Qatar Egypt and Morocco laying emphasis on diversification from traditional oil and Gas based sectors. Additionally, there is a drive across a majority of these economies to focus on citizen centric sectors such as healthcare and education. Traditional sectors such as banking, telecom and transportation are looking at modernising and upping the ante by using technology as a lever to provide smart services. Most importantly, governments are the key driver for the overhaul, upgrade and development by laying focus on digital transformation, smart cities and infrastructure to support the same.

From a manufacturing standpoint, IOT, shared services and analytics are key focal points to help move into the new era of smart manufacturing as well as move away from traditional CapEx based to more renewable OpEx based models. The region has also started to be proactive from a business model perspective with emphasis on open innovation platforms, renewed and sustainable energy and public private partnerships so there is an equal stake in the development of these geographies!
