As mentioned in previous IMS-related research reports, equipment vendors must develop strong partnership strategies along with an acquisition/merger strategy that strengthens existing product lines, adds another element to the IMS/IP network infrastructure equation or eliminates competition for similar products. These strategies are in conjunction with traditional acquisition/merger strategies and benefits such as increasing revenue, growing customer bases and diversifying markets such as providing both service provider and enterprise products/solutions and enhancing geographic coverage and markets.
